First World Problems:

Losing half your entertainers because they are fucking up at life too hardcore for your morals.

  1. Taylor Swift
  2. Matt Damon
  3. James Cordan
  4. Selena Gomez
  5. Chris Brown
  6. Charlie Sheen
  7. The Weeknd
  8. Tyrese
  9. The NFL
  10. Kid Rock
  11. Bill Cosby
  12. Stephen Collins
  13. Mark Salling
  14. ETC.

This list could go on and on and has been getting increasingly larger in the past couple years. I will not support people to make money who behave inappropriately. Not everyone listed above is as bad as the rest, some are just guilty by association or silence. Selena Gomez is listed because of association to Taylor Swift and political silence. Her boyfriend the weeknd is listed for his association with her.

Some of examples I listed are pedophiles, rapists, and women beaters. Some are hypocrites, liars, or narcissists. Some are politically silent about the injustices in the world and the current political climate. Some are associated with these criminals and/or have covered for them. I refuse to condone behaviour that I am morally against.  I refuse to give them money that they do not deserve.

Yes, everyone makes mistakes and I could forgive some of these people if they came forward and admitted to their mistakes and then behaved differently. Definitely not the actual disgusting criminals, but the people who just fucked up or were ignorant. Taylor Swift, you come forward and say you messed up with the Kanye thing and start actually being a real feminist, not just claiming to be one. I can forgive you, but you need to correct the behaviour. Selena if you start speaking up about the issues in the world instead of accusing other celebrities of being petty and wasting their platform and saying that you think what Taylor did was shady; forgivable. The Weeknd if you acknowledge that you are dating a woman who does not stand for the same things you stand for and is ignorant to the world but that you can’t help how you feel; forgivable. The NFL if you give Collin his job back and stop giving players crap for protesting and start actually giving a crap about your employees; forgivable. Kid Rock if you admit that Trump was not the best business man to give a chance at the presidency and stop supporting him and start actually giving a crap about the majority of the citizens that come from your city of Detroit, forgivable.

People can forgive and if you actually mean it when you apologize for your behaviour by actually changing your actions than you will get so many fans back that just can’t stomach supporting people who do not represent their morals. I do not care about your politics, be republican or democrat or green or independent or libertarian.  However, your political party is not as important as your moral stance. You can be republican and be disgusted by Trump and the majority of the current administration is America.

What is actually worse than losing some of your favourite artists is losing respect for friends and family who do not believe in what these celebrities support but continue to support the celebrities. Recently, Kid Rock had a concert in Detroit and some people I knew went and supported him. I get that they grew up on his music, they have been fans for decades. But he continues to support Trump even with all the racist issues going on in America. One, you should not be supporting someone who supports a racist; two, you should not be supporting a country the elected a racist; and three, you should be terrified to go to America with all the issues they are having because you could end up in the middle of some bullshit.

It is 2017 and I wonder if how I am feeling and what I am experiencing is the same issues that occurred before world war II. Were people losing artists that they respected, did they lose respect for people they knew because of their political affiliations? It is heartbreaking and I feel like this is not an issue that we should be experiencing in this century.
